We are a caring Christian community dedicated to growing in God's love through worship, spiritual growth, service and fellowship.

Children’s Programs

God’s love for us is the resounding theme throughout our Sunday School curriculum. Through Bible stories, activities, prayer and interactions, the children develop an understanding that God loves them for who they are. The curriculum is specifically developed for the variety of ages in our “one room schoolhouse.” Our dedicated, fun, faith-filled teachers include an artist who helps to bring the stories of the Bible to life through art projects the children enjoy doing. We have a Christmas Pageant that the Director and children write and for which the children create artistic renditions.

Jesus taught us to care for one another, and we show that by our weekly canned good offerings for the Neighborhood Service Center, participating in the Empty Bowls project, and our Lenten “Change for Change” fundraiser where we purchase supplies for those in need.

Sunday School starts out in the Parish Hall at the beginning of the 10:30 service. After about 30 minutes of a Bible story, a thank you prayer, and an activity , the children join the congregation during the passing of the peace. They participate in the service by bringing up the gifts and gathering around the altar for the celebration of the Eucharist. The children are welcomed and know that they are an important part of the Church of the Holy Trinity community.

Vacation Bible Camp During the summer, Vacation Bible Camp has been held during the week to provide the children an opportunity to develop a closer relationship with God’s creation. We live in a beautiful area, and at VBC, we recognize that God has provided us with this beauty and opportunities. Children have a fun time experiencing this through Bible stories, prayers of thanks, area field trips, songs, stories and games.

Sunday School will resume on September 17.  We will have the blessing of the backpacks during the 10:30 service.  Children entering Kindergarten and beyond are welcome to join us in the Parish Hall at 10:30 for Bible stories.  We then join the congregation during the “passing of the peace” and celebrate communion with the congregation, with the children gathering around the altar and participating in the service.

There is no fee for Sunday School, but we do ask that you register your children.  Knowing in advance helps us with planning.  It is also part of “safe church” policy.  Please download the registration form or pick it up at the parish hall and mail it to Church of the Holy Trinity, Sunday School, PO Box 387, Oxford, MD 20654.  If you have any questions, please call Fr. Kevin.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

It is important to us at Holy Trinity that the children find a safe place. To that affect, we have joined the other churches in the diocese in the training and adopting of the guidelines and requirements identified in our Safeguarding God’s Children Policy found below.
